Flying to BF's Hometown, Tarakan
Wednesday, October, 7th 2015
I joined bf and bf's mom coming home to their hometown, Tarakan ◟ʕ´∀`ʔ◞ I had never been to another island in Indonesia beside Java and Bali. Now i officially went to Kalimantan! Well, Tarakan is one whole island itself, tho. But it is belonging to North Kalimantan.
I went there for 3 nights, and actually for bf's friend wedding party there. Here the recaps of my trip _〆(･･ )♪
Bf always brag about this dish from his hometown. It's a steamboat and they said Surabaya doesn't have a delicious steamboat. Well the fact, yes we don't huhu. We ate this, fried fish with sauce, sauteed kale, and fried noodle in a restaurant called Cahaya. Bf was so excited about this.
It is indeed delicious ꒰ ꒪⌑꒪꒱˖ꂚ*ᵎ
Fried banana in there, called Sanggar, is served differently from Javanese fried banana. Well that's Indonesia, we have so many different cultures, we have one name of food that served diversely in every province. In there, they eat fried banana with peanut sauce. Tasted yummy, tho, sweet and salty.
Their dawet (green jelly served with palm sugar and coconut milk) has a different taste too from Javanese dawet. But i don't really like it (*´◡`)
♡⃛=͟͟͞͞꒰ˇ❝͋ुꈊ❝͋ुˇ꒱⁼³₌₃ Here's my ultimate favorite of foods there. My bf usually bring the frozen one back to Surabaya and it taste delicious. Now i could eat freshly in their restaurant, Purnama.
Mini fruit pie by bf's friend Salt n Sugar. It's yummy! So if you need snacks for event or birthday cake in Tarakan, i recommend this one.
Speaking of his friend..
Here's come the beautiful bride!
And i look fat af (ఠ్ఠ ˓̭ ఠ్ఠ)
The reception party. The dinner was also served differently (or maybe the same but in old way?). So in our table once we sat, there are bottles of soft drinks, mineral water, and beer, also a bowl ice cube and peanut snacks. It's like self service, open and pour your own drink. It's nice because we were in a table with friends, but if i was in a table with someone i don't know, then it would be a bother if i have to ask someone "eh, where's the mineral water bottle?" every damn time (*ﾟｰﾟ)ゞ
Because bf's friends ever talk about chillin' at the seashore called Amal beach, i asked bf to bring me there. He didn't really recommended it because there was nothing special, he said. Almost like Kenjeran beach in Surabaya. So he drove me there, i took photos, and went back home lol. So basically Tarakan is small island above Kalimantan island, and i've been asking my bf why he doesn't trained to swim since he lived surrounded by sea (꒪ȏ꒪)ｴｯ?
The next day i followed bf and his dad under way to his other hometown, way smaller than Tarakan and it is in another island. So we took a motor boat from the port (where exactly in front of his house) and went there for about 30-45 minutes. I should be worried if i would get seasick but the fact, i got really sleepy lol (∗ᵕ̴᷄◡ᵕ̴᷅∗) Not sure if i was really tired or sitting in a boat made me sleepy.
The city is called Bunyu. The first time i went for a date with him, i asked where he came from and he said that he used to live in Bunyu. And i was just like......
Another checklist accomplished! Have set my feet in bf's very quite(?) hometown.
We went back in the morning. Took this photo just because bf asked me few times why i didn't take clouds photo because i usually do.
See you in next post♡
